Europe doesn’t have enough problems. Seriously.
There’s a storm brewing over the election poster of a German parliamentary candidate, Vera Lengsfeld, because she … well … offered too much.
The campaign photos, described as ‘cleavage-intensive’, show Lengsfeld in a revealing dress alongside a shot of German Chancellor Angela Merkel in a similar outfit. The picture of Merkel was taken in 2008 at the opening of the Oslo opera house. The slogan at the bottom, “Wir haben mehr zu bieten”, translates to “We have more to offer”.
I think this is wonderfully cheeky. Not so hundreds of political pundits and activists in Europe who say the poster (that was not approved by Angela Merkel) is demeaning.
